News from the Domestic Front
The pinnacle of irony was reached today in Florida. In 2000, Democrats used the technicality of a missing postmark to toss out the votes of hundreds if not thousands of military personnel serving abroad. As anyone who has had experience with the military mail knows, military personnel outside of the U.S. us APOs, not Post Offices, so a USPS postmark is never applied. That the ballot was mailed by the correct person and was received on time was never in doubt. It was a technicality of the law that was abused as Gore attempted to disenfranchise our men and women in uniform in his quest to litigate his way into the White House.
Now Democrats are outraged that a missing checkmark on a voter registration form is causing those forms to be declared invalid.
Florida voter registration applications include instructions telling potential voters that "red boxes must be completed in form below for registration to be valid." The form's second line, in red, asks: "Are you a U.S. citizen?" beside a box in which the applicant can check "yes" or "no."Floridian Democrats cannot punch a hole through a paper ballot and now seem incapable of following simple directions when filling out a form. Do we really think these people deserve to vote?
A few other current news stories shows the face of the party of tolerance:
- An eight foot by eight foot swastika was burned into a homeowner's lawn because he had a Bush/Cheney '04 yard sign. Nearby homes were vandalized. (Ah, sweet tolerance.)
- In Knoxville, two shots were fired into the Republican headquarters in the early morning. (Thankfully, no one was yet in the office.)
- Protestors forced their way into the Republican headquarters in Orlando, Florida, vandalizing the facility and injuring two campaign workers.
- In Miami, over 100 protestors stormed the Bush-Cheney campaign office and in Tampa over 30 invaded the Republican office. (In both cases elderly volunteers were terrorized by the "violent intimidation".)
- A public school system in Michigan has been ordered to cough up some cash as they lose a case in which a student was denied her right to express her religious views against homosexuality during her high school's "Diversity Week" program. (School officials still do not seem to catch on to the irony of their actions.)
- A New Jersey middle-school teacher alleges that she was fired for displaying a photo of Bush on a bulletin board (note: this has not been confirmed).
- Michigan Republicans have asked the prosecutors in four counties to charge Michael Moore with illegally offering prizes ranging from a package of Ramen noodles to a clean dorm room if they would agree to vote. Michigan law forbids the exchange of something of value for a promise to vote. (Any bets that prosecutors will look the other way on this one?)
- Federal agencies are investigating claims that more than 40,000 people are registered to vote in both New York and Florida, and over 1,000 have abused this in the past by casting ballots in both states. (Any bets as to which party these voters belong to?)
- Firefighters around the country are mad because New York firefighters are not engaging in groupthink. In fact, they have a mind of their own and not only endorsed President Bush but are now actively campaigning for him. (Yet Republicans are branded "fascists".)
Apparently we can add Wisconsin to the list of places where Democrat mobs invade and intimidate the elderly. [Hat tip to the American Mind via InstaPundit, who has pictures of the HQ in Knoxville that was shot.]
