Failing to realize that even the most secular among us are concerned with the declining morals in our society, many of whom see television and "popular culture" as destroyers of our value system.Dominionism is the theory that the account in Genesis in which God gave man dominion over the earth has become a political teaching advocating that Christians gain and hold power. Christian reconstructionism is the theory that Christian conservatives intend to impose Old Testament law in America.
The United States is "not yet a theocracy," Joan Bokaer, founder of TheocracyWatch.org, said Friday night, but she argued that "the United States is beginning to fit the model of a reconstructed America."
And excuse me, when did Christians ever say they wanted "Old Testament law"? If you were going to go off the deep end, wouldn't that be more of a Jewish thing? Didn't Jesus come along and say, "Never mind that whole 'eye for an eye' thing. Love is what it's all about!"
What's next, protests with signs that say "Bush = Nehemiah Scudder"?
