Bear Creek Ledger cites a second-hand source that swears Fred Thompson will announce 1 May because that is when his contract with Law and Order ends. Sounds plausible.
The Corner has a video of Newt apologizing for some comments Latinos learning English when living in the US. But he does so in Spanish (nice touch) and the Corner theorizes a Thompson/Gingrich ticket in 2008.
Several 2008-themed Web sites have been registered in recent weeks on behalf of Mr. Thompson, and one of his fellow Tennessee Republicans has recruited 60 House lawmakers to meet with Mr. Thompson on April 18 in Washington.
Finally, the first grassroots rally for Fred will be held in a park in Cookville, TN later this month. This seems to be the brainchild of Draft Fred Thompson 2008.
