In real life, AlphaPatriot is Darrell Carden.

The views presented on this site in no way reflects those of my employer, family, friends, acquaintances or distant cousins as these generally fall into three categories: the smart ones that agree with me, those that tolerate me because of my wit, charm, great intellect and modesty, and those who think that I'm a raving wingnut who's one Kennedy away from going medieval on the next vegan moonbat that barks.

Immigration Bill "Setback"

A vote to limit debate on the immigration legislation, thereby setting it on a path to passage, miserably failed 33 to 63 (60 votes are needed for cloture).

Mitch seems to have played a part in this:

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky said his fellow Republicans needed more time to work on the bill that ties tough border security and workplace enforcement measures to a guest-worker program and a plan to legalize an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants.

Reid promises to try again (probably scheduled for late this afternoon), but if that fails this bad bit of history will be kicked down the road for a while (until our elected idiots takes another swing at "comprehensive" legislation).
